Nike’s new three-minute long mega-commercial for their ‘Write the Future’ campaign features the instrumental progressive rock song ‘Hocus Pocus’ by the band Focus.

The time has come for players to carve their name in history. One touch, tackle or free kick could crush a nation’s hopes or cause them to build a statue in your honour. Drogba, Rooney and Ronaldo are ready to Write The Future. The piece ends with a potentially game-winning free kick by Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo. As the ball is struck, the image cuts to black with the words “Write the Future” placed above a Nike swoosh.
This commercial is produced for the World Cup 2010 in South-Africa and was directed by Alejandro G. Iñarritu (’21 Grams,’ ‘Babel’).
