In Canada, a boy of 11, Austin Forman, rescued from the claws of a cougar by his golden retriever named “Angel”.
The rescue operation took place at Boston Bar in the southwest of Canada, at about 150 miles from Vancouver. The eleven year old boy gathered wood in the garden behind the house, when the cougar attacked him.
The 18 months old retriever jumped between them and began to fight with the cougar. Meanwhile the little Austin ran in the house and warned his mother. “There is a large cat eating our Angel!” he yelled. Mama called the emergency number. Fortunately there was a cop patrolling in the area. He was on the scene in a few minutes and shot the cougar dead.
Angel was bitten and scratched several times by the puma, but it looks like everything will be okay because of the heroic dog. “Austin and his grandfather drove into the city and bought a nice, big steak bought for Angel,” his mother told the Canadian television.
