Roger Federer has won Wimbledon 2009. He’s officialy the best tennisplayer in hystorie (based on Grand Slam titles). He won 15 titles in his career and that is one more than Pete Sampres. Don’t think he is stopping now! He will win a lot more Grand Slam titles. Roger won agains Andy Roddick 5-7, 7-6 (8-6), 7-6(7-5), 3-6, 16-14. Yeah, you read it well 16-14 in the last set. In the whole match he hit 50 aces… THAT’S A LOT!!! It was a great game, with a lot of nice points, and overall Federer was the best player on the court. Andy also played very good, but Roger was just a little bit better and it was a deserved win for Federer. He said that Andy played a great game and that he had to do a lot to make this great moment come true. He will become a father this year and has won 15 Grand Slam titles, what more do you want…
Serena has won the Wimbledon tournament of 2009. He won against her sister Venus Williams. Scores: 7-6 (7/3) in the first set. The second set was less thrilling, Serena won also won it: 6-2. A nice thing to know is that the sisters played each other 21 times. Serena won 11 times and Venus off course 10 times. It was the 4th time Serena won Wimbledon.
Serena had to save two break points in game eight of the opening set before going on to dominate the tiebreak.
A double fault from Venus in game six of the second set handed the initiative to her sister. Venus survived three championship points on her next service game before netting a backhand to hand Serena her 11th Grand Slam title.
There was nothing to about it, Venus said. She (Serena) had an anwser to everything today. Serena said she was supprised she had won the tournament. It was already 6 years ago that she won Wimbledon.
On sunday we also have the Men’s final. Roger Federer is playing against Andy Roddick. More news to come about that game.
