A drunk caused a real havoc in England. The guy had no money for a bus ticket and decided to steal a bus. Drunk he ran into fifty vehicles. The amazing joyride will cost him € 280.873 and 3,5 years in jail.
Shane Oldroyd (27) from Ossett in West Yorkshire had a few too many beers when it was finally time to go home. He had no money was but the young man had a bright idea. He and his girlfriend went to the nearest bus station, got on a bus and hid behind a sofa. When the coast was clear, he got behind the wheel and what followed was a real joyride. In total he rammed more than fifty cars, a number of road signs and walls before the police he could finally stop him. When officers asked him why he did it, he answered coolly:” I just wanted to use the bus for a ride.”
A police helicopter observed the bus and filmed the 48 kilometer long journey (see video above). The video shows how the bus swings back and forth on the road, ramming vehicles and traffic lights. “This was very dangerous,” said Inspector Paul O’Dowd of the police in Wakefield. “It is a miracle that nobody was injured.
Today the “nice couple” hadded to the court. “Oldroyd admitted he had put lives in danger, that he drove without a license, was drunk and committed a crime.”
