Summary World Cup South-Africa after week one

The first week of the World Cup in South Africa is finished. There were a couple of strange results. Many of the major countries lost critical points, just look at England, Spain, France, Italy,… I think this will be and is becoming a World Cup with a lot of suprises!

Here’s a summary of all the matches:

Group A:

South-Africa – Mexico: 1-1
Uruguay – France: 0-0

Group B:

South-Korea – Greece: 2-0
Argentina – Nigeria: 1-0

Group C:

England – USA: 1-1
Algeria – Slovenia – 0-1

Group D:

Serbia – Ghana: 0-1
Germany – Australia: 4-0

Group E:

The Netherlands – Denmark: 2-0
Japan – Cameroon: 1-0

Group F:

Italy – Paraguay: 1-1
New-Sealand – Slovakia: 1-1

Group G:

Ivory Coast – Portugal: 0-0
Brazil – North-Korea: 2-1

Group H:

Honduras – Chile: 0-1
Spain – Switzerland: 0-1

I think the biggest suprise is Spain, they’ve lost against Switzerland 0-1, but they were the best team of the two. Switzerland had only 1 chance, maybe 2, but that was enough to get the three points. After week one, I think Germany was the best squad out there. They’ve won 4-0 against a very weak Australia. Okay Australia was realy bad, but I think that was the merit of Germany. Here’s a video with all the goals of the match between Germany and Australia:
