I’m asking the question everybody wants to answer but can’t yet… So I will give you a couple of reasons the iPad will be a succes and some reasons why it won’t be a succes. Will apple have more profit than they already have.
10 Reasons why the iPad of Aplle will be a succes:
1. One of the main reasons whether or not the iPad will be a success is the ability to read electronic books and newspapers on it. Of course now you are saying: I can also read it on my computer. That is true, but a computer or laptop is not really suitable for reading books or newspapers.
2. Apple has agreements with several major publishers for its iBookstore.
3. The device is extremely user friendly.
4. Those who have an iPhone will like to work with an iPad, it is larger and also uses a great touchscreen technology.
5. The browser is incredibly fast.
6. It has the perfect size and is easy to hold in your hands.
7. It weighs only 0.68 kg.
8. It is only 1.3 cm thick.
9. You can use over 100.000 applications.
10. Applications open very fast.
10 reasons why the iPad will NOT be a succes:
1. It is not possible to view downloaded movies on your iPad and than play it on your TV (it has no HDMI output).
2. the unit is big and you can’t put in your pocket.
3. You can’t run two programs simultaneously (no multitasking).
4. You can’t take pictures or do any filming with the iPad.
5. You can’t run flash.
6. You need an adapter to connect a camera or another external device, it has no USB output.
7. It does not support widescreen (16:9).
8. The iPad only runs application from the App Store.
9. The touch keyboard is not useful for typing lots text.
10. Many of you will find it too expensive ($ 499 for the non-3G version with 16GB hard disk and € 629 for the 3G version with 16GB hard disk). Prices go up fast when you want a bigger hard drive.
So, these are my reasons why the iPad will be a succes and why not. Now it’s up to you whether or not you should buy one.
